Resurrection Greetings!
Here we are again at that beautiful time of year we know as Easter. Many have rightly called it the “Season of Resurrection,” because it highlights the most amazing event in all of human history: the moment God raised Jesus from the grave!
As we enter this blessed season, I’m reminded that things are different than they used to be. We are still cautious about our comings and goings, even though we are beginning in-person worship. But it still remains a lonely time for many.
Please know that while you may not be able to be with us in-person here at First Church, we love and pray for you. We are praying that this same Jesus who rose from the grave in victory will be your source of joy and peace.
The Scriptures tell us that one day there will be no more pain of separation. “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain; the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:4)
The Resurrection makes all of that possible. Though there is much goodness in this world, it is not our final destination. As we look forward to the New Jerusalem, we bow before the God who makes all things possible.
What a wonderful God we have! What hope and assurance we have! I am offering gratitude to God for leading us through this season by honoring Him with a financial gift over and above my yearly pledge. Would you consider joining me in that?
I love our church, and can’t wait to be back together with less restrictions. But God is at work in our midst now! I am so very thankful to be with you as we celebrate the event that changes everything: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
May God richly bless you and your loved ones during this special time of year!
