Regular Worship Schedule

First Church Family,
     I pray that this weekly email newsletter finds you keenly aware of God’s blessings. That is not always the thing we think about first when waking, but when that is my focus, it certainly makes my day more fulfilling.
     What a week we just finished, after spending much time with 33 children and a dozen youth during Vacation Bible School! Thanks goes to everyone who had a part to play in that wonderful experience, including a number of adult volunteers!
     The VBS children and youth sang and danced in our combined worship service on Sunday. Too, we saw VBS videos and a video made of the late June Youth trip to BigStuf in Florida. The 10:30AM service in the CLC was full of energy (something appreciated by one of our senior members, who said: “That was the longest worship I’ve ever been to!” Ha!)
     Please remember that this Sunday we go back to our regular worship schedule: 9:00AM modern worship in the CLC and 11:00AM traditional worship in the Sanctuary. Be sure to remind your friends and family of the return to our regular worship schedule this week.
     Also, remember that we are collecting school supplies for our Caldwell County children over the next two weeks. Those supplies will be picked up at the church on August 17 and distributed to local educators for the beginning of the school year. You may drop them off outside of our worship venues and also in the church office.
     Our focus in worship this Sunday is Gideon, “The Reluctant Warrior.” The Scripture text is Judges 16:1-18.
