First Church Family:
What a blessed Lent we have had, through the Palm Sunday’s “The Last Supper Tableau”! Tonight at 6:00PM, we will continue to walk with Jesus to the Cross, as we participate in a Maundy/Holy Thursday Communion Service. For the first time in two years, you will have the opportunity to receive elements of bread and juice from the pastors. (The cellophane, pre-packaged wafers and juice will also be available, should you prefer that.)
Then tomorrow, we will gather at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church at 11:00AM for the “Procession of the Cross” through downtown Lenoir. That procession will end at our church around noon. Shuttle services will be available from FUMC to St. Stephen’s before and after the procession. Please join us for a moving Good Friday experience.
On Easter Sunday morning, we will gather to celebrate Resurrection of Jesus in two services: 9:00AM – Modern in the Christian Life Center; and 11:00AM – Traditional in the Sanctuary. If you have flowers to contribute to the Easter Flower Cross (that will be placed at the top of the steps in front of the church), please bring them on Sunday morning. Also, if you would like to attend an earlier service on Easter, our sister church with whom we worshipped Sunday, Trinity UMC, has invited us to be with them at a 7:00AM service.
Holy Week blessings to you!
Pastor Dave
