First Church Family,
Over the past weeks in worship, we have delved into the faithful lives of extraordinary women of the Bible. This past week our message in the sermon was more like a history lesson, articulating how God used Esther’s brilliance to save her people from extermination.
This week we move from the Old Testament to the New, as we look at the life of Mary Magdalene, who truly was the female equivalent of Jesus’ disciples.
Throughout the summer, our music in both modern and traditional services has been wonderful! And that will continue this Sunday, as we welcome both the Blue Ridge Brass and aspiring young tenor soloist Bergsvein Troverud to our Sanctuary worship.
Every Sunday someone offers words of gratitude and encouragement for the quality of our weekly worship.
Recently someone said that she wouldn’t think of skipping a service because of the surprises she would miss.
This week will be one of those events. God will be powerfully present with us through both proclamation and music.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday at 10:00 in our beautiful sanctuary. If you’ve been thinking of inviting someone to join you, this will be a good Sunday to “make the ask.”
Blessings on you,
Pastor Dave
