First Church Family,
One of the treasures in every community and church is its youth. And 2020-21 has been a very challenging, difficult time for them.
Last school year was shortened by massive restrictions due to the COVID pandemic. And though this year has been a bit less restrictive, much teaching was done online, masks were required, even for athletes during their events, bands and choruses weren’t allowed to function. The list goes on and on.
Actually, to their credit, it is amazing that our youth have been able to adapt to the changes and restrictions the way they have, with courage and lifted spirits.
This Sunday in worship, we will celebrate their gifts and commitment to Christ and our church. And we will honor our graduating high school seniors.
We will worship in one service, beginning at 10:00AM in our Christian Life
Center. Please do all you can to be with us to worship God, celebrate the gifts and commitment of our youth, and honor those who will be moving on from high school.
Of course, we will wear masks and remain socially distant, though a very large percentage of those attending our services are fully vaccinated. Hopefully, soon even those restrictions will be rescinded.
We have been the most cautious, safety conscious congregation that I know of. We were slow to return, and continue to encourage safe practices.
The past weeks of worship have gone well, as we have been reminded how much we really need each other!
Our Heavenly Father has watched over us in a powerful, loving way!
Hope to see you Sunday!
Pastor Dave
