Cornerstone
We are an enthusiastic and fun loving
collection of young to middle age
adults seeking to discover and follow the
Lords path for our lives. The class is
designed to bring you into a closer relationship
with Jesus Christ and to become better disciples
at home, work, and abroad. Through Bible study,
prayer, and group discussion, we study and
discuss ways of applying the Bible to daily
living. |

The Upper Room Class
is an enthusiastic and age
diversified class thst enjoys an indepth study of
the Holy Scriptures. We recently studied the book of
Romans. After that we will be taking a
detailed look at "Acts" and gaining
encouragement and guidance from the early founders of
the Christian Faith. Besides Bible study we
have contributed to the church in the Building
Fund, as well as sponsoring an Angel Tree
Teen. We have also supported needy families
in the past. We would like for anyone to
come visit and see if we have to offer what you
are presently needing. See you in church! |

Wesley
Friendship Class
Our teachers encourage class participation and
and a lively discussion is generally the
rule. The class has a Social Events
Calendar and over the next few months we will
have a winter outing which is usually dinner at a
unique restaurant, a cookout at Tuttle Education
State Forest, and our annual picnic, ice cream
social, and auction. Additional activities
are planned for the fall and winter. The
class provides financial support to numerous
Caldwell County charities and agencies and has
made a very generous pledge to the church
building fund. |

YET-TO-BE-NAMED
Sunday School Class is
a group of young and spirited adults
who meet with two goals in mind
1)To worship
and learn about our God through prayer and the
Bible and 2)To acquaint ourselves with each other
and our families in hopes of forming close bonds
and unconditional relationships. The class began
in January and is off to an exciting start! We
are made up of brand new, first-time parents,
couples with no children, single parents, and
anyone in- between! Please join us on Sunday
mornings for an hour of spiritual awakening,
conversation, and food!! We are looking forward
to seeing you! |

Middle High Sunday School
This class teaches 6th through 8th graders the
love of Christ through a study of the Bible. A
non-traditional teaching structure led by Buddy
Anderson using videos, discussions, music, and
field trips are used to help accelerate these
young minds understanding of how the Bible
applies to our lives today. We are finishing a
study of Matthew through Easter. A study of the
40 days after Christs resurrection will
follow. Our class will also be attending a Youth
Rally in Elkin on April 13th. A trip to Carowinds
in June is also planned in conjunction with a
Christian concert series. Please come to Sunday
School to take part in the fun, fellowship and
most of all, the education in Gods Word.
GUESTS are ALWAYS welcome. |

Genesis
Class
When our class was formed, we felt we should have
a name that strongly reflects our Christian goals
AND describes us as a group. Because we are at a
place of new beginnings in our lives,
we feel that our name, the Genesis Class,
suits us. We constantly strive to begin anew our
commit-ment to serve our church, our community,
and each other in Christs name. For the
first time in our lives, we are faced with the
challenges of our children leaving home, of being
in-laws and grandparents, and of caring for aging
parents. We work hard to be a support group for
each other and schedule various outings
throughout the year. Several members volunteer to
lead our class discussions, using
thought-provoking and varied materials.
Currently, we are having a series of classes on
Wrestling with Angels. We are growing
not only in membership, but also in faith. See
our recent class trip to visit the Yarbroughs. |

Adult Fellowship Class
Studies from the International Lesson Series are
being taught by different teachers along with
their actual experiences. We are responsive and
contribute to the Angel Tree, the needs of
students in local schools & made a sizable
donation to "First Church - Second
Chapter". Our class enjoys the fellowship of
multiple outings a year. |

College and Career
meets in the Library on the first floor of the
Education Building. Larry Staples, Lori
Whisenant, Jennifer McCormick, and Bill Salsbury
facilitate in a roundtable discussion format.
This class deals with topics centered on the
'college experience' as it pertains to issues
such as dealing with diversity issues, keeping
faith in school, and peer relations. We have no
set curriculum but rather choose topics based on
current situations in the lives of our class
members. The College and Career Class meets
according to college break schedules during the
year and throughout the summer. |
