“Oh, Jonah”
|
| “Oh, Jonah” is a wonderful musical that not
only has JONAH, but angels and a whale. It was a whale of a good
time for both the Music Makers and the congregation. Jonah is
brought to life with music, mime, and music making. It's more than
just a story about a whale swallowing a human. It's a story about
us. It's a tale involving responsibility, repentance, listening
for the word of God in our lives, accepting people who are different
from us, and believing that there is mercy and compassion from all who
turn toward God - serous thoughts, but told with a sense of humor and
frolicking fun.
The children had a great time learning the music and their lines. The show went flawlessly thanks to the hard work of choir director Carol Piersall, pianist Lisa Maggiore, and percussionist Charlie Smith. The Music Makers choir also had the accompaniment and quest appearance of Dwayne "the big splash" Knight as the infamous whale. A wonderful time was had by all. |
